Through History’s Silence: From the Sea of Marmara to the Fields of Gallipoli
Begin your day with an early breakfast before embarking on a picturesque journey to Çanakkale, winding past fertile farmlands and tracing the serene southern coastline of the Sea of Marmara. As the landscape unfolds, we reach the legendary Dardanelles Strait — a strategic waterway that has shaped the course of empires, connecting the Sea of Marmara with the Aegean Sea.
Upon arrival in the vibrant port city of Çanakkale, take some time to enjoy lunch and soak in the harbor’s energy. Then, we cross over to the Gallipoli Peninsula, a place of somber remembrance and immense historical weight. Here, the tragic events of the ANZAC landings during World War I come into sharp focus — a campaign marked by bravery, loss, and enduring legacy.
Walk across the preserved battlefields, where Turkish trenches still scar the earth, and visit powerful memorials at Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair. As your guide shares the stories of the soldiers who fought and fell here in 1915, the surrounding steep hills and deep ravines tell a silent tale of sacrifice on both sides of the conflict.

From Epic Legends to Sacred Hills: Troy to Selçuk
After breakfast, we begin our journey toward Selçuk, with a meaningful stop at the legendary city of Troy — where myth meets archaeology. Immortalized in Homer’s Iliad, this ancient site invites you to walk in the footsteps of heroes. As your guide paints the tale of the Trojan War, explore the ruins of city walls that once withstood sieges and strategies, and don’t miss your chance to snap a photo with the striking replica of the Trojan Horse, an enduring symbol of cleverness and fate.
Our road then leads us to Selçuk, a quiet but historically rich town nestled at the edge of antiquity. In the afternoon, join your guide for a walk through Ayasoluk Hill, a place layered with spiritual and architectural significance. Step inside the elegant Isa Bey Mosque, a 14th-century masterpiece of Seljuk design, and admire the commanding presence of the Ayasoluk Fortress, overlooking the valley below.
Next, explore the ruins of the Basilica of St. John, believed to be built over the apostle’s final resting place. According to early Christian tradition, St. John arrived in Ephesus with the Virgin Mary, spending his final years here around AD 100. The site remains a deeply meaningful destination for visitors of faith and history alike.
As the day winds down, you have time to relax and explore Selçuk at your own pace. For those seeking further insight into early Christianity, you may choose to join the optional Seven Churches Tour — a powerful journey through the sacred sites mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

Walking Through Time: Ephesus, Meryemana & Sunset in Şirince
After breakfast, we set off to explore one of the crown jewels of the ancient world — Ephesus. Located near modern-day Selçuk, this extraordinary archaeological site is considered one of the best-preserved and most impressive Greco-Roman cities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Founded by the Greeks in the 11th century BC, Ephesus later rose to greatness under Roman rule, becoming the capital of Asia Minor and one of the largest cities in the empire. As you walk along its marble avenues — once strolled by figures like Cleopatra and Mark Antony — your guide will bring to life the grandeur of temples, fountains, and theatres that defined the ancient city. Its diverse population, including a notable Jewish community, also made it a significant center for early Christianity and a key location in the ministry of St. Paul.
In the afternoon, you may choose to visit Meryemana (House of the Virgin Mary), a peaceful hilltop retreat believed to be where the Virgin Mary spent her final years under the care of the Apostle John. Today, it remains a place of pilgrimage and reflection.
Later, we journey to the picturesque hillside village of Şirince, known for its fruit wines, charming atmosphere, and deep-rooted artisanal traditions. Here, you’ll have a chance to sample local wines, witness a traditional carpet-weaving demonstration, and enjoy the sunset as it bathes the stone houses in golden light. Whether or not you're shopping for a rug, it’s a heartwarming opportunity to support local craftspeople and share a moment of Turkish hospitality over tea.
The day concludes in Şirince, after which we head to Kuşadası for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay by the Aegean Sea.

As your guide shares the ancient tale of Byblis and Kaunos, the cliffs come alive with legend.
Next, we arrive at the unspoiled shores of Iztuzu Beach, one of the most vital nesting grounds for the endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles. Here, you’ll have time to relax or enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters where the river meets the sea — a breathtaking natural setting where conservation and beauty coexist.
After returning by boat, our journey continues along the coast to Göcek, a tranquil town surrounded by forested hills and turquoise bays. Terraces, Temples & Testimonies of Faith: A Day in Pamukkale, Hierapolis & Laodicea
After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive toward one of Turkey’s most extraordinary natural wonders — Pamukkale, meaning “Cotton Castle.” As we arrive, you’ll be greeted by a surreal landscape of glistening white travertine terraces, formed over thousands of years by mineral-rich thermal waters flowing down the mountainside. Take a moment to dip your feet into these warm, healing pools, long revered for their therapeutic qualities and stunning beauty.
Next, we step back in time at the adjacent ancient city of Hierapolis — a former spa town of the Greco-Roman world and a sacred site in early Christianity. Believed to be founded in the 2nd century BC, Hierapolis was renowned for its healing waters and became a spiritual haven for the sick and faithful alike. As you explore, marvel at the remarkably preserved Roman theatre, stroll past the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, and feel the echoes of ancient rituals and daily life.
Our journey then leads us to the nearby ruins of Laodicea, once a bustling center of commerce, wealth, and worship. While much of its grandeur lies in ruin, the stadium, gymnasium, and theatre still rise from the earth, reminders of its former influence. Most notably, Laodicea holds deep significance in Christian tradition, as one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, with the remains of an early Christian basilica still visible today.
As the sun begins to set over these ancient hills, we return to Pamukkale for a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, ending a day filled with natural beauty, spiritual depth, and timeless history.

Beneath the Earth and Among the Stars: Arrival in Cappadocia
After breakfast, we set out on our journey to the mystical heart of Anatolia — Cappadocia. Upon arrival, your guide will lead you through two of the region’s most fascinating sites, beginning with the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This remarkable complex of rock-carved churches and chapels, adorned with centuries-old frescoes, offers a powerful window into the spiritual life of early Christian communities.
Next, we descend into the depths of the Derinkuyu Underground City, a breathtaking feat of ancient engineering. Reaching 60 meters below ground, this subterranean city once sheltered thousands of people, complete with churches, food storage rooms, wells, ventilation shafts, and stables — a testament to the resourcefulness of civilizations that thrived beneath the earth to escape danger above.
Cappadocia’s surface is equally otherworldly. Known for its iconic fairy chimneys — towering rock spires formed by ancient volcanic eruptions and sculpted by erosion — the region’s surreal terrain looks like it belongs on another planet. You’ll have the chance to wander through lunar-like valleys, discovering rock-hewn dwellings, hidden chapels, and landscapes etched with the passage of thousands of years.
With roots stretching back before the Hittite era (circa 2000 BC), Cappadocia is not only a geological wonder but also a cultural crossroads where history, faith, and survival intertwine.
As evening falls, you may wish to unwind with a visit to a traditional Turkish hammam, or join an optional Turkish Night, where live music, dance, and regional flavors offer a lively celebration of Anatolian culture.
